Rosie Eaves was born in 1912.
As a result of complications following measles she went profoundly deaf.
It took her until the age of 90 to tell Jacqui Cousins, her daughter, this story about school. Rosie was still so affected by the memory that she could never record the story herself. Instead, Rosie's friend the actress Josephine Redmond has done that for her.
